- High-impact Cost Accountant role supporting multiple manufacturing operations

- Lead all aspects of standard costing, including materials, labor, and overhead rates
- Serve as the primary Cost Accountant responsible for product cost accuracy and inventory valuation
- Maintain and improve costing structures within ERP systems such as SAP, Epicor, or similar platforms
- Review and validate BOMs, routings, labor standards, and manufacturing workflows
- Analyze and report on:
- Material usage variances
- Purchase Price Variances (PPV)
- Labor efficiency and rate variances
- Overhead absorption variances
- Scrap and rework costs
- Work order closure variances
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to identify root causes and implement cost improvements
- Ensure accurate accounting of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory
- Support inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, physical inventory, and year-end audits
- Prepare cost-related journal entries and support month-end close activities
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and manufacturing cost-driver modeling
- Develop and mentor a junior Cost Analyst
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5-7+ years of experience as a Cost Accountant or within manufacturing finance
- Experience within aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial manufacturing, or other complex manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong understanding of:
- Standard costing
- Inventory accounting
- Manufacturing variances
- BOMs and routings
- Work order accounting
- Knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing financial controls
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Epicor Kinetic, or similar
- Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to operational stakeholders
