Salary: $70,000-$95,000 + Discretionary Bonus

Key Responsibilities for the Intermediate Accountant

• Prepare GAAP financial statements, reporting packages, journal entries, and supporting schedules
• Perform account reconciliations, research discrepancies, and resolve reconciling items
• Handle reinsurance accounting, reporting, and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reinsurance bordereau for brokers
• Monitor cash settlements with profit centers and reinsurers
• Support month-end close while ensuring all reporting deadlines are met
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiencies

Qualifications for the Intermediate Accountant

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong financial reporting experience required
• Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles
• Experience working in a high-volume, transactional environment
• Experience supporting multiple entities or business units preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• PeopleSoft experience is a plus
• Property & Casualty insurance accounting experience is a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment
